This 2D Design project was called the Playing Card Project.
The first half of the assignment was to use fine point markers to create two portraits with unique designs, similar to the face cards on a deck of playing cards. The subject matter is two characters from one of my favorite video games Cyberpunk 2077. Keanu Reeves played one of the main characters and is featured on the top. Below is the player character. This was one of my favorite projects I’d ever done as I enjoyed the subject matter immensely. It measures 7.5x11 inches.
This is the back of the playing card project, in which the direction was to create a tessellating pattern thematically related to the subject matter. Just as the imagery on the front is based on the video game Cyberpunk 2077, this pattern is likewise based on two icons from the game with some alterations to make them fit together satisfyingly. The final image measures 7.5x11 inches.
